I will share my roller coaster ride on house hunting at the peak of the housing market. I’m an engineer and a number person. I’m planning to split into a few blogs for that roller coaster ride.
- My motivation [nothing crazy; just like any genZ-millennial in the US who wanna own a house and want to be smart with money]
- Understanding what I want [I’ve learned it through the process with the help of internet, family support, and choosing a supportive and good realtor who understands you and support you with numbers]
- Timing + Timeline[I hate this not gonna lie; because we can’t time the time but having a consistency and persistence on wanting to get the best out of any situation helps]
- Everything is a learning experience; but you gotta be trusting your decision [for sure you can’t make a decision without having a good idea of what you want and how much you trust on your own judgement. The whole journey does back you up on how you make a decision]
- Number, number, number [know your number and know which number makes sense to you and always open to different ideas]
Disclosure: After me house hunting on resale houses (not new construction) for 5 months, I ended up getting a new construction house. The building is still going so I can’t tell if this is the best decision I have ever made. I have a good “feeling”; but I also have a lot of uncertain “feelings”. I’m going to back it up by educating myself through the process and making sure to do my all best on this. This is such a time consuming especially I do this during the peak of the housing market and interest rate rising time. I’ll keep posted on how my new construction goes later.. but yes I’m grateful for everything.
